  1. Participants must be Filipino citizens and residents of Negros Oriental
  2. At least 18 years old

GUIDELINES

  1. Interested participants must register by filling out the Metro Dumaguete Water Online Entry Form. Registration link: https://forms.gle/zFpreGXTFTRDkCsP7
  2. All photos must adhere to this year’s World Water Day theme, “Groundwater: Making the Invisible Visible”.
  3. Photos should only focus on fresh water.
  4. Photos must be taken in Negros Oriental.
  5. Each participant is allowed to submit up to two (2) entries. Both entries may be awarded.
  6. Photo entries must be contestant’s original work; it must not have been awarded in any other photo contests and/or commercially published whether for news or advertising.
  7. Only photos taken by digital cameras are allowed. All photos must be in color. Post processing of the image is limited to cropping and color enhancements, including shadows and highlights only. Photo manipulation is not allowed.
  8. Photos taken earlier than February 2022 may be submitted.
  9. Entries should include the photo’s metadata (ISO, Aperture Value, and Shutter Speed).
  10. Photo must be in JPEG format with at least 300 dpi and a maximum file size of 10 MB.
  11. Participants must agree to share non-exclusive rights of their photos to Metro Dumaguete Water for publishing or advertising purposes. By joining the contest, the participant is considered to have granted Metro Dumaguete Water the permission to use the photos and other personal information provided for various publications and marketing collaterals of the office or other purposes.
  12. Participants must submit a photo release form signed by their subjects if the subject’s face is directly shown in the photo entries. No release form will invalidate the photo entry.
  13. Submissions will be accepted from February 2, 2022 (Wednesday) until March 4, 2022 (Friday). No Submissions made after the submission deadline will be accepted.

Artistic Value and Communication Potential of the Image – 30%
Technical Excellence and Quality – 30%
Total 100%

AWARDING

  1. A total of 12 finalists will be chosen among all submissions with three major awards.
  2. The Top 3 winning photos will be announced on World Water Day, March 22, 2022, through the Metro Dumaguete Water Facebook Page and Website.
  3. The entry with the most number of likes will be awarded the People’s Choice Award.
  4. Winners will be contacted on the details for the claiming of prizes.
