DUMAGUETE CITY – Metro Pacific Dumaguete Water Services Inc. or Metro Dumaguete Water (MDW), a joint venture between Metro Pacific Water (MPW) and Dumaguete City Water District (DCWD), has initiated an employee vaccination leave program dubbed #MDWJabbed to support and promote nationwide COVID-19 vaccination efforts.
As the Dumaguete City Vaccination Program opened to frontline personnel in essential sectors late last June, MDW Chief Operating Officer (COO) David Berba announced that MDW would grant a one-day vaccination leave to its employees to encourage them to get their vaccination shots as soon as they receive their vaccination schedule from their respective barangays or from the City Health Office.
“We thank the City Government for expanding its vaccination program to include frontline personnel in essential sectors. We really need to expedite the vaccination of our population to see the end of this pandemic. And the #MDWJabbed vaccination leave program is the best way to show our support. I hope more offices will follow this initiative as a community effort in achieving herd immunity,” Berba said.
Simultaneous with the City Government’s vaccination efforts, MDW has also heightened COVID-19 safety protocols at its office in Daro and in its pumping stations. Stricter implementation of Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) guidelines, including a skeleton workforce schedule, has been observed to decongest MDW’s office and prevent COVID-19 infections.
“The safety of our employees and customers is a priority. We try to do our part by ensuring that we strictly follow COVID-19 protocols without disrupting the regular flow of operations at our office,” Berba added.
MDW has also added more payment centers to provide safer and more convenient transactions for its customers. MDW now allows online payments through GCash and is also accepting over-the-counter payments through selected 7-Eleven convenience stores and in around 50 sari-sari stores across Dumaguete City through the ECPay system.
