MDW broke ground last Monday, June 27, for the second deep well this year to boost its commitment of improving the city’s water supply.
MDW COO David Berba together with DCWD Chairman Lloyd Tenaja and General Manager Roderick Diaz led the groundbreaking ceremony for the new pumping station in Barangay Talay.
This is the second pumping station to be built this year to help increase water supply and pressure in Dumaguete. Citing the event as momentous, DCWD Chairman Engr. Lloyd Tenaja shared how the project is a big step towards the improvement of the water supply in the city.
With the two new sources to be constructed in Cadawinonan and Talay, along with the upgrading of DCWD’s existing pumping stations, and an aggressive pipe rehabilitation program, an additional 8 million liters per day (MLD) is expected to augment the supply and improve pressure to serve 8,000 households.
