MDW earns Data Privacy Seal from NPC

DUMAGUETE CITY – Metro Dumaguete Water has recently earned the Seal and Certificate of Registration from the National Privacy Commission (NPC). The Data Privacy Seal, awarded on August 1, 2024, affirms MDW’s commitment to adhere to the standards set by the Data Privacy Act, which includes implementing measures to protect personal data, ensuring data subjects’ rights, and handling data breaches properly.

The acquisition of the Data Privacy seal is a requirement under the NPC Circular No. 2022-04 issued on 5 December 2022, which sets out the registration framework of Data Protection Officers (DPO) and Data Processing Systems (DPS).
