Metro Dumaguete Water has joined the nationwide Brigada Eskwela Program of the Department of Education on August 11 and 14, 2023, at four public schools across Dumaguete City.
Volunteers from the different departments of MDW participated in the cleaning and repainting of school chairs and tables at Taclobo National High School, Babajuba Elementary School, Amador Dagudag Elementary School, and City Central Elementary School. A total of 12 classrooms worth of tables and chairs from the four schools were repainted in preparation for the upcoming start of classes this August.
MDW COO David Berba and the MDW Team led the MDW Brigada Eskwela at Amador Dagudag Elementary School together with the Rotary Club of Dumaguete South and PNP Dumaguete City, under the command of Police Lt. Col. Ronoel Fungo.
Berba emphasized MDW’s commitment to support the schools as one of its integral partners in developing the city.
“We want to help bring more color back to the classrooms and encourage the kids to come to school and learn,” said Berba.
Apart from repainting, MDW also checked the schools’ water reticulation system to ensure the teachers and students received a reliable and uninterrupted water supply.
