MDW supports 2022 DepEd Brigada Eskwela

DUMAGUETE CITY – Metro Pacific Dumaguete Water Services Inc. or Metro Dumaguete Water (MDW), a joint venture between Metro Pacific Water (MPW) and Dumaguete City Water District (DCWD), donated essential hygiene and school supplies to 25 public elementary and high schools in Dumaguete City for their Brigada Eskwela Activities.

City Division Superintendent Gregorio Cyrus Elojorde welcomed the donation, which he said will go a long way as schools are adopting the modular learning approach.

“The reams of bond paper and other supplies will incredibly help the schools amid their limited resources. We deeply appreciate MDW’s support,” said Elojorde.

More than 90% of schools are on a modular learning basis as parents and students opt to use modules due to limited access to the internet. Teachers have also resorted to online, modular, or blended teaching as face-to-face learning is still on hold.

MDW Chief Operating Officer David Berba and MDW’s Division Heads personally visited and turned over the donations to the public schools.

“We want to assure our teachers and students of MDW’s support especially during this difficult adjustment period. While we strive to provide improved water pressure and supply to our schools, we also wish to help in other ways as a partner of growth in the community,” Berba shared.

Berba turned over the donations to the first batch of elementary and high school public schools during the celebration of Teachers’ Day last October 5, 2021. The rest of the schools received their supplies in the succeeding weeks of the month.
